Trust

I spent most of yesterday in Emergency at the hospital. Here are some details so you know I'm OK. My problem was chest pain. I went through two rounds of blood tests, an Xray, and a CAT scan. The diagnosis was a clot in my lungs, pulmonary embolism. Six months on anticoagulant and less time spent in front of the TV should fix it. It took ten hours and probably added years to my time with family and friends. Now that day is over. No worries.

I am writing about people who work every day in difficult circumstances helping strangers who are sick and broken. I am writing about doctors, nurses, technicians, security staff, cleaners, administrators, volunteers and politicians who serve with good will, compassion, masks on, and a sense of humour to get the job done even when things don't go as they should. Thank you, good people. I trust you.
