Imagination soars on anxious wings
to forests, mountains, oceans, arctic snow,
distressed and damaged, as we surely know,
by ignorant ambitious carelessness.

Don't be disheartened..
Have no fear,
no grief, no anger nor denial. No...
Just breathe,
inhaling peace, 
exhaling thanks 
for living on this life-sustaining globe
unmatched for beauty through the universe.

So, loving planet Earth, though bruised and sore,
might we Belong with those who care, and strive
to make this fragile heaven last awhile,
a moment more,
a hopeful year,
a parent's promise in an infant's ear,
perhaps a brief eternity.

Don't be disheartened, nor afraid nor vexed.
We have a say in what will happen next
while heaven thaws.
