If you have read one of these blog posts and returned a few days later, you know that I always publish before the editing is finished. However hard I try to get things right before announcing them to the world, I find I need to make changes. There will be spelling and grammar to correct, adjustments in sentence structure, metaphors scrapped and replaced, whole pieces tossed in the basket. The story will not be done until I am done. If these words are spoken at my funeral, I will be annoyed; I need another go at it.
While we are alive, we take off with some confidence most mornings thinking things are going to be OK. Then we take another look and find ourselves wing-walking to repair an engine while in flight. It's scary. It's exhilarating. It's unavoidable.
And writing a blog is a piece of life. So, even though this isn't done, I click Publish and show the world the unfinished story.
